Drawings, prints and commissions — straight from the pen.
Tony O'Donnell has spent a lifetime telling stories with ink. From the pages of The Beano and Near Myths — alongside Grant Morrison and Bryan Talbot — to Marvel UK's Real Ghostbusters, DC Thomson's football strips and decades of illustration, his line is one of British comics' most characterful. Now based in Busan, South Korea, he's still drawing every day and taking commissions.

Tony O'Donnell was born in Grangemouth, Scotland, in 1957. He was drawing before he could properly explain why, and Edinburgh College of Art — where he arrived at sixteen — gave him the language. He graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in Graphic Design and Illustration in 1980.
His debut in Near Myths — the Edinburgh punk-era independent that also launched Grant Morrison and Bryan Talbot professionally — produced a cover illustration accepted for the Association of Illustrators Annual and exhibited at the Mall Gallery, London. That same piece later appeared on the cover of Imagine magazine.
What followed was a full career in British comics: The Real Ghostbusters for Marvel UK, Ivy the Terrible for The Beano, eleven years on DC Thomson's Football Picture Story Monthly, and strips across Buddy, Spike, Starblazer, Star Romance and Redfox. He draws with warmth and wit, always has. Now based in Busan, South Korea, he's still at it — taking commissions, making prints, and drawing every day.
Five decades of British comics, illustration, and publishing — from Edinburgh's underground to the pages of The Beano read by millions of children every week.
